How to Build a Timeless Capsule Wardrobe

In the fashion world, new trends and styles are always coming in and out of popularity. Old styles that went out of fashion eventually come back and resurface which turns into what everyone is buying and trying to get their hands on, then gets recycled, and goes onto the next. It is an endless cycle of recycled fashion over the decades.

Come this rotation of events, finding fashion pieces that are timeless and can be used in many different ways, for multiple styles, can be super efficient.

Invest in tops and clothes that are basic but can elevate your outfit. Building a timeless capsule wardrobe is super easy and straightforward. Basic tops, lightweight sweaters, and button downs are great staple pieces that you can style in a variety of ways. Bottoms such as basic jeans, a few skirts, or business pants can be used for the same. As well as, sticking to neutral colors would be best as its patterns or designs that tend to flow in and out of style over the years. Though a few statement pieces are great to catch the eye of an outfit, aiming for neutral colors is important. By buying bits of clothes that can be versatile over time, this will save you a lot of money and time spent looking for trending items.

There is even a method called the 5-4-3-2-1, which consists of five tops, four bottoms, three accessories, two pairs of shoes, and one swimsuit. While this may not be ideal to all, this is a great format to follow if you want a more simple and timeless wardrobe. Creating an outfit does not have to be so difficult, or revolve around so many different items. Finding certain tops and bottoms that can be timeless can make all the difference, and a few simple accessories.

The media has its ways to manipulate and push certain brands or items onto its viewers, and a lot of people lose a lot of money trying to keep up with the expensive trends. Always keeping up with what is in style can also cause a lot of stress on people as well by pushing the ideology that ‘you wont fit in’. Being able to reuse clothing items that can be shaped into whatever you want will save you a lot of money, and won’t push a standard onto you that the media tries to portray.
