The Style of Harry Styles

We are all aware of the huge style change that Harry Styles had since leaving One Direction. It caused lots of controversy in the media. Some people loved it, and some people hated it. Some people questioned if Harry’s drastic style change was for attention, while others believed him leaving the band allowed Harry to finally be his true, authentic self. Harry has always been the star in the room, but now he really looks like the star.

Even though he wasn't remembered to be stylish, he really always has been a style icon. His memorable One Direction eras are still referenced to this day. Harry has been a frequent subject in many style magazines, ever since his start in One Direction. 

After the start of his successful solo career, Harry truly made a mark in the fashion world. He started wearing bright colors, sequins, and ruffles, a unique style that was unlike what others were wearing at the time. Harry wasn't afraid to wear “girly” colors, and express his feminine side. In November of 2020, Harry blew up the media as he made the cover of Vogue wearing a dress. This event caused madness, and people were furious that a man was seen wearing “girl clothes''. 

Harry went on his second concert tour, Love On Tour, starting in 2021. Each night on tour, Harry wore a different outfit, created by designer Harry Lambert. These outfits were bright, colorful, and fun. After the first couple of shows, fans began to copy Harry’s vibe and go all out dressing for the concerts. Every single person in the crowd soon began dressing up in bright, glittery outfits. Fans would create handmade outfits, saying that the concert was like their Met Gala.

Despite people's opinions on Harry, it's clear that he made a mark on the world of style. He set trends, created a new style, and made people feel comfortable to wear whatever they want to wear.
