Sofia Richie’s Chanel Wedding

Sofia Richie said “I do” to European music executive Elliot Grainge with an extravagant wedding in the French Riviera on April 24th. The wedding had romantic details, a star-studded guest list including Lionel and Nicole Richie, and Paris Hilton, and of course, 3 custom Chanel wedding dresses. 

Richie shared her experience visiting the Chanel haute couture salons in Paris with her mother-in law and best friend. She selected three custom Chanel looks for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and after party, describing the experience to Vogue as ,”a larger than life dream”.

Richie’s first wedding look for her rehearsal dinner was what appeared to be a two piece set with an ankle length skirt and long sleeve tunic top. The bodice of the tunic was covered in detailed beading, matching the beaded trim on the bottom of the tunic and skirt. Richie pulled her blonde hair into a sleek bun showcasing her 1960 House of Harlow diamond earrings.

Before Richie walked down the aisle, she started her morning by the coast wearing a black and white Chanel knit maxi dress paired with a wooden Chanel box clutch. Hours later, Richie changed into the main attraction – her wedding gown.

Richie looked stunning in her chic Chanel dress based on a silhouette from one of Chanel’s winter 2023 pieces. The sleeveless halter dress featured delicate lace, bow shaped sequins, and a long train. Richie once again wore a slicked back bun to accompany her Cathedral length veil. 

According to Sofia, she had two heart shaped gems sewn into her wedding gown symbolizing the romantic occasion. On the inside of the dress, she had the initials “S” and “E” along with the date of their wedding stitched into the gown. 

Her final look for the after party was a traditional Chanel look inspired by an iconic look supermodel Claudia Schiffer wore in 1993. The mini dress had a corset top featuring floral detail Richie effortlessly paired with kitten heels and a fingertip length veil.
