Top Scents to Wear This Summer
Though we have only had a few days of warm weather yet this year, summer is in fact fast approaching. With this change in season, many people (including myself) like to switch up the scents they wear to match the vibes of the warmer climate. Here are some of my favorite scents to wear during the summer, and what brands create perfumes in these categories.
Gardenia
Flowery scents such as gardenia are perfect for the warmer months of spring and summer. Their light, sweet scents are reflective of the flora and fauna of the season, as well. Some more expensive gardenia scents include Glossier’s You and Byredo’s Inflorescence and Flowerhead. Less expensive perfumes include Pacifica’s Tahitian Gardenia and KKW’s Crystal Gardenia.
Coconut
Summer calls for smelling like you just came from the beach, sans the sweat. A good way to get this scent is by wearing coconut. Something about wearing coconut just screams summer. Higher-end perfume’s that meet this criteria are Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc and Lancôme’s La Nuit Trésor Nude. More affordable options include Urban Outfitter’s Lait de Coco and The Body Shop Coconut.
Citrus
As the fruit comes into season, why would we not want to smell like it, too? Citrus fruits and the scent are the epitome of summer, so they are a great option to buy for the season. More expensive options include Replica’s Under the Lemon Trees and Hermès Un Jardin à Cythère. A less expensive scent is Urban Outfitter’s Thé Matcha.
